The King of Norway yesterday appointed the new Government in Oslo.
Thorhild Widvey, a reputed Board professional and Amrop Norway Board Member, has been named the new Minister of Culture.
Ms. Widvey was first elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1989, and was re-elected on one occasion. From 2002 to 2003, Ms. Widvey was appointed State Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries. From 2003 to 2004 she was State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2004 she was appointed Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy. Ms. Widvey has had a number of corporate board roles, and a deep involvement in sporting events, including Tromsø 2018.
As required by Norwegian law, government Ministers must resign from corporate Directorships with immediate effect.
